The latest release of Fork helps you to organize important commits by introducing sorting for branches and tags. It’s quite easy to get overwhelmed with the number of tags and branches in a project with a long history of releases. You can select a Quick Action for interactive rebase in the context menu. Starting with Fork 1.0.78, there is an easier way to start with interactive rebase: Quick Actions. Improved status control is only available starting from macOS Mojave. It now shows the info about active processes and behind/ahead commit count for the active branch. We have revamped Fork’s status control to fit more useful details. ![]() With all the painting I do, I've caught up on four years worth of "Nosleep," so I recently purchased the pass for season five. In order to keep the program ad free, David decided to offer additional content for a cost of $19.99 per season, which averages out to about 40 cents per hour of content. (Mostly, though, it just helps keep me focused because I start getting too scared to look away from the painting.) There's something about creating art in an empty studio after dark while hearing the incredibly well-produced horror fiction of "Nosleep" that drives my creativity. I love to set up my canvas and paint while listening to this podcast. And it's produced commercial-free, so there aren't any interruptions to take you out of the world of horror. Of course, in addition to David, there are many others involved in the show. So while the idea for the show may not have been his, it was David who breathed life into it and made it into what it is today. David's enthusiasm for the project surpassed the rest of those involved, though. It all started about five years ago when a group of Redditors decided it'd be a good idea to bring the stories to life via podcast. I had the opportunity to speak with David Cummings, the man behind "The Nosleep Podcast," about his award-winning show (it grabbed the 2014 Parsec Award for Best Speculative Fiction Magazine or Anthology Podcast). (These people have issues, which is why their stories are so good.) #BEST OF NOSLEEP PODCAST FULL#"Nosleep" is a weekly show that consists of several narrated horror stories culled from the Reddit forum "Nosleep," a subreddit full of original content written by Reddit users. #BEST OF NOSLEEP PODCAST DOWNLOAD#We can buy or rent terrifying films, we can read our favorite creepy stories, or we can download podcasts like "The Nosleep Podcast," which is what I do. ![]() But for those of us who love to be scared, what do we have to fill our lives during the 11 months that aren't October? ![]() Even with the sun (sometimes) shining, the flowers blooming and all the other telltale signs of spring and summer, there's still something this season doesn't offer: a good scare.Īs I've written about so many times before, I count "horror geek" among my many geek monikers. ![]() ![]() ![]() Going by this premise, the Design 99 studio created abstract colour designs on abandoned housed, and claimed that it acted as a deterrent for the vandals and burglars. ![]() Mitch Cope, co-founder Design 99 at Detroit, Michigan, has observed that buildings with design pattern were safer from vandalism as compared to those having no such design. Thus black and white geometric distortions, the dazzle camouflage, is a work of art in the same measure as a tool of camouflage in the battlefield of early 20th century. Picasso’s painting of human and animal forms, distorted to the hilt and were yet recognizable. Cubism is an exercise in abstracting a known shape and size. The idea of dazzle camouflage ostensibly came from an art form, cubism, invented by Pablo Picasso around 1907-08. That is, in those days of World War I when weapons were simpler and unsophisticated. The target being visibly different from one on which the enemy had practised in mock drills, proved to be an added challenge in the do-or-die battle situations and proved to be a disadvantage for the German Navy. Hence the boats escaped the enemy onslaught. Variegated shapes and patterns on ships were a positive drag on the aiming exercise of the opponent. The gunners, in some cases, missed the target by as much as 55 degrees. Gunners were directed to aim at these boats and shoot. Some dazzle ships were presented for trial. An experiment on sailing ships did support the idea to some extent. Consequently, they erred in judging the distance of the ship and their gun/cannon fire strayed from the target. Understandably, the new look of allied warships challenged the sensibilities of a naval commander. ![]() That is, a ship acquiring a more visible frame, as if to say: here I am, hit me. ![]() The very audacity of the idea was a dampener for the enemy. In fact, winning a battle has always involved conning of the enemy in some way or the other. It so enticed Sita that she compelled her husband Ram to get it for her. The reference of a golden deer in Ramayana. Like Horse of Trojan used by the Greeks to enter the city of Troy. There are many references of such out-of-the-box fooling tactics in history. The enemy is momentarily put on the back foot and forced to rethink on the offensive. And that’s quite a gain in battle conditions which call for an unwavering concentration and a cool mind. Hence, the opposite side is bound to be overawed with the spectacle. The new image of the ship would be a sharp departure from the image of it in the enemy’s mind. That would surely surprise, if not shock, the enemy. Given that concealing of sea vessels was not possible, why not make them more prominent over the surface of the water? Prominence would be imparted by painting the body of the ship with myriad shapes and designs in bright colours. So, what could be the possible alternative? An out-of-the-box solution came from British marine painter Norman Wilkinson. Add to this changing colours in the skyline, and it becomes clear that there could be no way out to merge the gross appearance of a boat with the unfolding of colour patterns in its background. Clouds form and disappear, the smoke from chimney leaves a trail which is hard to conceal. But this couldn’t apply to ship floating between skyline and the choppy sea waters. Like a chameleon turning green in green foliage, and brown in a heap of dried leaves. The general rule of camouflage is to blur the distinction between an object and its surroundings. Something had to be done, quickly, to save allied warships. The U boats launched by Germany were capable of navigating below the surface of the water and emerge at a firing distance from the ships of allied forces. The naval battle, then, was more about visual acuity and firing on an anticipated point in the distance. World War I was not the era of guided missiles which can hit moving targets with precision. Conventional camouflage was not tenable for warships Little thought was given to its on-ground efficacy. The idea, called dazzle camouflage, was instantly adopted. Search for their camouflage led to a crazy idea: if you can’t conceal (from the enemy), confuse (the enemy) with paint of colour patterns. The heavy-weight smoke bellowing ships could scare hide between the sky above and the water below. The allied ships, which could only surf on the water surface, became their easy target. During World War I, Germany came up with U boat, the submarine, which could move below the surface of the water. ( Imperial War Museums)ĭodging the enemy in a battlefield is always a strategy of paramount importance. I adore the magnificent retro vibe, neon touches and gorgeous coloring here. From the subtle coloring that fits here like a glove to a magnificent behavior that looks incredibly natural, Marco Dell’Anna has an eye for detail. The project enthralls not only with the idea but also with the realization. Having received an award for the most hearted project of 2017, Plankton is certainly worthy of attention. PLANKTON – Particles life by Marco Dell’Anna Note the physics: the interplay between the dots is well-thought-out. The behavior of the animation is reminiscent of fish movement when it is close to the water surface. The mouse cursor also pushes away the dots, forming a trace with a subtle ripple effect. This version of particle animation is quite popular among developers, though not in such a monumental scale.Īlex Safayan came up with almost the same solution, but in this case, particles are increasingly enlarged. And Justin Windle has certainly met our expectations. With 30,000 particles on board, you expect something grandiose. ![]() #SIMPLE CSS IMAGE ANIMATION EXAMPLES WITH CODE CODE#Let’s consider some phenomenal code snippets created by the real fans of this solution. And, developers stick to this postulate through thick and thin, making the most out of it. The premise is: particle animation should impress. Moreover, it perfectly contributes to high-tech, geometric and businesslike aesthetics – naturally finishing them off. It is not something extraordinary, yet it has a certain wow factor. From the chaotic mess of tiny white dots that were scattered throughout the canvas, it transformed into a tool with great potential. Using Particle Animation to ImpressĪs time went by, the technique matured. While the concept by Robin Selmer is just a pleasant piece to watch the other two require the interaction of the user, and that’s always exciting. Consider Particles in space by Dean Wagman, CSS only particle system by Robin Selmer and, of course, the push away effect skillfully reproduced and featured in a codepen of Alex Safayan. However, it does not mean that the approach is limited to just this sort of realization. It is a combination of particles and parallax that results in an engaging and dynamic aesthetic. For example, check out Canvas Particles by Romswell Roswell Parian Paucar. Generally, developers prefer more neat, modest and calm variants. ![]() ![]() ![]() The 3D walkarounds are excellent and there is lots of furniture to choose from. ![]() ![]() Sometime before the first film, Toothless encountered a Whispering Death, with whom he started a conflict. Toothless lived in the Dragons' Nest on Dragon Island along with all the other dragons that would raid Berk and has hatched around 15 years before the events of the first film. It is shown that he has become aware of Hiccup's crush on Astrid, even seeming to briefly tease him about it. Toothless' intelligence shows many times throughout the film, being able to understand Hiccup's words and commands as well as agree with some of what he says. He also shows a great curiosity, imitating Hiccup's actions and mannerisms when they initially encounter one another. He does not take kindly to being offended or anyone offending or endangering his human friend, but is usually playful, docile, maybe even a little teasing when not threatened. Toothless is very intelligent and seems to have a dry sense of humor, similar to Hiccup. ![]() However, only Toothless and Hookfang had this armor made for them thus far and they haven't worn it again due to finding it uncomfortable. Despite that setback, Hiccup and Fishlegs were able to perfect armor. They later switch to a set made of Gronckle Iron because it was also lighter in addition to being very durable. The only down-side of the original dragon armor was that it was heavy, but Toothless was still pretty fast while wearing it. His first set of armor was made of Screaming Death scales that Hiccup and Snoutlout got when they traveled to Screaming Death Island to get the dragon’s shedded scales because the Screaming Death has the strongest scales of any dragon. In the first seasons of Race to the Edge, Toothless wore battle armor in order to avoid the Dragon Root lanced arrows. Toothless also shows himself superior to most Vikings, as proven against Stoick in a quick skirmish. He proves himself to be a very able fighter, such as when he rushes to Hiccup's aid in his battle with the Monstrous Nightmare, Toothless quickly causes the larger dragon to back down. Toothless gets his name from his sets of retractable teeth. But when he is docile or happy, his pupils become larger and more dog-like. ![]() He can narrow his pupils to slits when threatened or angry, similar to that of a cat. ![]() This is later replaced by various artificial prosthetic tail fins that Hiccup constructs himself until Hiccup made a automatic black one that resembles his real tail fin and Hiccup adds Toothless' scales to make it fireproof which Toothless accepts the new tail permanently. He is missing the left of his tail fin, lost when Hiccup takes Toothless down with his Bolas-Shooting Ballista, crashing into a tree where his left tailfin was damaged, missing, or cut/sliced off. Toothless possesses at least two sets of wings (one main pair and two smaller ones near the base of his tail). He has jet black scales covering his whole body, his sides having small light patches in a pattern similar to that of a manta ray. Toothless is much larger than his book counterpart, being much bigger in size than Hiccup.
